About Ray

Ray Kenetsky began his music career studying at the Wilmington (Delaware) Music School and the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston. He moved to Paris, France in the early 1970’s where he enjoyed success writing, arranging, performing, and recording. In 1978, he was asked to conduct the Eurovision Song Festival. During the 1970’s and 80’s, he performed and wrote arrangements for such artists as Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Tina Turner, George Chakiris, Lionel Hampton, Herbie Hancock, Tom Scott, Barbara Eden, Bridget Bardot and many others.

He worked on feature films and TV, including: King of the Mountain, Joysticks, Winds of Change, Hong Kong 97, Miami Vice, and MacGyver. He collaborated with Keith Carradine to write the title song for the film Out of the Cold.

For the past 15 years, Mr. Kenetsky has worked with Frankie Avalon as his music director and conductor, performing throughout the United States. He works in the same capacity for “The Golden Boys” (Frankie Avalon, Fabian, and Bobby Rydell) tours, most recently in Las Vegas. Ray’s 2008-2009 tour schedule with Frankie Avalon includes several performances at California venues, as well as Las Vegas and Florida. In October 2007, Ray was honored for his musical work , received a star and was inducted into the “Walk of Fame” in Wildwood, N.J.

His current “day job” is that of Music Director for Immanuel Lutheran Church, Redondo Beach. He has a long history of working with musical programs in a variety of churches, as arranger, player, and conductor. Through his interest in metaphysical arts, he has also worked with victims of childhood cancer, writing unique “healing” music for them. These kids are now adult survivors and attest that listening to the music did help them heal.

With numerous awards, platinum, and gold records to his credit, Mr. Kenetsky runs and owns BALTIC SEA MUSIC, a publishing and music production company.
