I believe that a student finds their innate musical voice by achieving a solid foundation in technique. By emphasizing correct hand placement through the study of scales, arpeggios and etudes combined with appropriately graded musical works, the student can prepare for and achieve successful solo, chamber ensemble, orchestral performances and auditions.
My teachers included David Moskovitz at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Paul Rolland and Sergiu Luca at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I served as Assistant Concertmaster of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra from 1986-1996, Associate Concertmaster of Tulsa Philharmonic Orchestra 1991-93. In 1996, I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where I have served in the violin section for the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra and as an extra violinist for San Francisco Opera Orchestra. In addition, I have played in numerous Bay Area community orchestras including Berkeley, Modesto and Fremont. Music festivals I have been associated with include Eastern Music Festival, Breckenridge Music Festival and Mendocino Music Festival.
